topGreetings!

As parents, our hearts go out to everyone affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook School on Friday. Sadness does not even begin to be a strong enough word for what we all are feeling right now.

Please know that even though Sunflower classes are on Winter Break, our amazing community is still available to answer questions or listen if you need to talk. Email us directly or connect with each other on our Facebook page or Meetup message board. We can all be here for each other during this difficult time.

On our website: we have added some resources and advice from Susan on how to talk with your children about tragedy, as well as how to begin to process these events for yourself.

Much love to you all,

Susan and the Sunflower staff

On our blog
In case you missed it, here's what we've been talking about on the Sunflower blog...

The holidays are upon us, a time for togetherness and traditions. But for parents of young families, this can be a stressful time as well. Let's face it, parents (and, unfortunately, young children themselves) are a key marketing demographic. It's hard to go anywhere this time of year without being bombarded with ads for the [...]...»

"Children see magic because they look for it."  Christopher Moore This saying could not be truer or more encouraged than in Sunflower's new class Lightning Bugs. Drama. Creative Movement. Puppetry. Music. Visual Arts. These are the elements that make up Sunflower's new enrichment class tailored specifically for children ages 3-5. Classes are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and [...]...»

A little boy glanced at me from across the playground. Both his hands were on a big green post. He took his first steps to climb down off of a small tower as our eyes met. I saw one hand flutter, a tiny wiggle in his body, some small unsteadiness. He looked away, carefully steadied [...]...»
