Sunflower Saturdays, New Times for Little Sprouts and Intro to Seedlings Meetings for Parents

During the first two weekends of December, we'll be offering a special Sunflower Saturday class. A great time for moms to get in some holiday shopping while dads enjoy a class with the kids!

For babies to age 4, with adult.

Class dates are Dec. 1 and 8, 9:30--10:45 am. $17 drop-in.

New times for Wed Little Sprouts Wednesday classes now will meet at 2:00 pm (ages 2.5 to 4 years, with adult) and 3:15 pm (ages 16 mos to 2.5 years, with adult). Please note, classes are arranged by age.

Roots & Shoots now meets weekly! Join us Wednesdays at 3:00 pm (Shooting Stars, ages 5-9) or 5:00 (Re-Cycos, ages 10-16), at Sunflower. No fee.

Come ready to build! We need all hands on deck as we begin construction on the planting boxes for our onsite garden. We could especially use the help of older kids (Re-Cycos!) and former Roots & Shoots members who've had experience working on our Pearl City Community Garden project.

Boca Community Garden-- December Gardening
Middle and high school age members in Re-Cycos will be gardening. Veggies grown in this garden will be donated to Boca Helping Hands. Contact us at 561 482-3412 for directions and to get involved! 

Wednesday, Dec. 5-- Weekly Meetings (see times above) 
Our compost has been brewing, and this week we'll be adding the first soil to our onsite garden. Get ready to see the magic!

Boca Raton Holiday Parade, 5:00 pm (meet at Sunflower)

Roots & Shoots members will once again march in the parade, for the fourth year in a row. This year we'll be wearing our new Remember Play t-shirts! Meet up at Sunflower at 5:00 pm to pick up your shirt and sandwiches for dinner, then we'll caravan over to the parade drop-off site. *Kids age 7 and older can walk in the parade. Please call 561 482-3412 to sign up.

Housing Needed for Sunflower Intern
In January Sunflower will welcome Maura Sternberg from Deerfield Illinios, as our intern. Maura is a student at Oberlin College. She will be donating her time, interning with us from Jan. 10-20. She needs housing during this time, and would love to live with a family and help out with some childcare for money to help cover expenses.

If you are interested in opening your home to Maura, please contact Susan for more information 561 482-3412.
