Just a few general thoughts about the Park City real estate market. First, the market in Park City has been very active both with buyers and sellers for the past 12 to 14 months. Prices have solidified and appreciated over this period of time. In some areas of the market, inventory is becoming scarce though it seems that properties continue to come to market at about the same pace as demand in most areas. We may find ourselves in a seller's market before too long if the pace continues.

Interest rates continue to be incredibly low but they are moving up. We may never see the record lows that we saw in the past few years. It is still a great time to borrow for a new purchase or to refinance but don't wait too long.

Building starts have begun to increase. Some consumers are not able to find what they want in the market and therefore have decided to build. Builders are also gaining confidence in the market. Enough confidence that they are willing to begin speculating again. There will be much more building activity in the coming months as the weather improves.

Vacant lots are hard to find in town or close to Park City. There is an abundance of lots in the outlying areas especially in some of the golf course communities.
