May 2013
Greetings!

NGT 50 2013
April was certainly a big month for the team at Africa Adventure Consultants. Not only was our 'In Livingstone's Footsteps - The Final Journey' African safari recognized as one of the '50 Best Tours of a Lifetime' by National Geographic Traveler for 2013, we were also the recipients of an Ubuntu award from South African Tourism.

Our best moments come when we put together the perfect trip for a traveler, when we hear safari stories from our clients and when they share their experiences with us in photos and videos. We are also very proud when the biggest names in the travel industry recognize the passion and excellence with which we approach each day.

Read on for more information about our award-winning safari and for a chance to test your knowledge about Dr. David Livingstone, the inspiration for 'In Livingstone's Footsteps.'

AAC Safari Named One of '50 Best Tours' by National Geographic Traveler

Into Africa book cover We at Africa Adventure Consultants were thrilled to hear that our 'In Livingstone's Footsteps' safari was named to the '50 Best Tours of a Lifetime' by National Geographic Traveler in their April/May issue (on newsstands now!). We created the 'Livingstone's Footsteps' series to honor the bicentennial of the explorer's birth and to share his storied history on the African continent with travelers.

To celebrate our award, we'll be presenting a series of trivia questions over the next few issues of Safari News. Answer the following trivia challenge for a chance to win a copy of the book 'Into Africa' by Martin Dugard where you'll learn even more about Livingstone's adventures!  Cape Town Waterfront G Healey 2010

When did David Livingstone reach Cape Town? (Hint: You can find the answer among our Livingstone-themed safaris on our website)

Answer the trivia question on today's status update on our Facebook page, or email your answer to [email protected] by midnight MST tonight (May 14th). The winner will be randomly selected from all correct answers and will be announced and notified by May 28th. Good luck!

AAC Wins Ubuntu Award
Ubuntu 2013 Jenny

We are very proud to announce that Africa Adventure Consultants has been recognized with an Ubuntu award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Creative Destination Marketing' for our 'Monkey See, Monkey Do' South African family safari contest we held earlier this year. AAC's award was one of 12 presented by South African Tourism (SAT) to recognize its 'outstanding trade partners in business and leisure travel.' Safari Specialist Jenny, who accepted the award on behalf of the AAC team, appeared in a story in this month's issue of Uptown Magazine, looking appropriately glamorous at this prestigious event.

We are especially pleased with this award as we proudly offer amazing family safaris to South Africa. Whether you choose one of the Gold, Silver or Bronze family itineraries created to celebrate our contest, or wish to create a customized itinerary for your family, we've got you covered!
