Uspiritus is Seeking Foster Parents
 
April 29, 2016 - Uspiritus Therapeutic Foster Care Program is recruiting foster families and families willing to foster to adopt. Individuals must be 21 or older, show proof of income and have a background check. Training is provided. Ongoing support includes in-home therapy, 24/7 case management, family sessions, monthly trainings and competitive daily reimbursement. Tee Up to Help Kids in Links of Love golf Scramble - June 6!

The Links of Love golf scramble is Uspiritus' annual fundraiser during which participants can change the lives of some of Kentucky's most vulnerable youth and families.

The golf scramble will be held Monday, June 6 at The University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville. A multi-million dollar renovation which local media says will make this course "second to none" is expected to be near completion by the date of the golf scramble.

The practice range opens at 11:30 a.m. Registration and lunch are at noon. Welcome and rules will be at 12:45 p.m. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Awards and dinner will be at 5 p.m.

Cost is $1,000 per team or $250 per individual golfer. There will be a silent auction and prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Mission Ministry - May 14 at First, Winchester
Sat. May 14th 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, the Mission Ministry will have a meeting. Everyone who is interested in PC(USA) work in the areas of peace, justice and advocacy is encouraged to attend.

Our Agenda:

1) We will report on our uses of the documentary TRIGGER. If you took the material and haven't used it yet, reasons why are also important for us to know.  Other happenings in our area addressing gun violence and what is being done about it.  Positions of presidential candidates regarding gun violence in the US.

2) Fracking, pipe lines and the radioactive waste they carry and illegal dumping of radon in our landfills (Estill County).

3) What we can do to get out the vote.

4) Our upcoming grant cycle.

There is so much work to do and we need hearts, hands and input!

Feel free to bring a sack lunch if you wish as we will be going through the lunch hour.
