Burnamwood Executive Director
Dear Transylvania Presbytery,
I am writing to inform you that Rick Frederick, Executive Director of Burnamwood, has resigned his position to take another call to a camp in North Dakota. His last day will be May 15.
We want to thank Rick for all the good work he has done and wish him well in his new call. Burnamwood has been well cared for during his time and he did a great job to get us where we are today.
In the coming weeks, we will be meeting to develop a transition plan to make sure our summer camps continue to provide the best care and spiritual development for which Burnamwood has become known. All the summer staff has been hired and we are fully staffed and ready to provide a wonderful summer camp experience for the children of our Presbytery.
Rick's departure comes at an interesting time in the life of the Presbytery and Burnamwood. There is an ongoing look at how the Presbytery needs to be structured to accomplish God's mission in eastern Kentucky. Burnamwood is an integral part of that mission. We will continue to look at strengthening Burnamwood and positioning it so it will continue to bless future generations of youth and children. This will include how we staff the camp for success.
Finally, we have a very committed Burnamwood Commission that understand the needs of the camp and are passionately committed to its mission. I want you to know that the camp is in good hands and I have all confidence in their leadership.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns, ideas or want someone to come and speak to your congregation about Burnamwood.
Peace,
Rev. Philip Lotspeich
