| Partners in Ministry! |
This is the theme and the logo for the 2016 conference for operators of our water systems in the Yucatan Network of Living Waters for the World - the network that YOU helped to create and support. On March 4 & 5, operators of our 60 water purification plants across the peninsula will gather for continuing education, fellowship, and sharing of best practices. This is the 11th annual conference, each one a bit better than the last! This time together helps to strengthen the sustainability of our water systems, some of which have been providing clean water continuously for nearly 12 years - that's millions of gallons of clean water! Please pray for this conference, for those who will attend, and for God's guidance as we continue to make clean water available for God's people in the Yucatan peninsula. (Note: the leftmost water drop contains the logo of our non-profit partner there, created by Mexican Presbyterians to facilitate this partnership. This is the first time these two logos have been combined as one!)

| Mental Health and the Faith Community |
It is estimated that roughly 20% of the population of the United States struggles with a mental illness. At last count, there were roughly 120 million prescriptions in the United States for psychotropic medications. Mental illness is a reality and it is a reality that is present within our congregations and the communities that we serve. Many clergy find themselves at a loss when dealing with mentally ill individuals. Most seminaries do not include curriculum related to mental illness, and so the average community pastor does the best that they can. One of our goals here at Eastern State Hospital is to serve as a resource to the faith community. So many of the individuals struggling with mental illness are in need of healthy, understanding, and welcoming churches and faith communities. I would like to take a moment to invite each one of you to our new hospital facility for a community clergy event. This event will feature presentations from psychology, social work, pastoral care, and other individuals involved in psychiatric healthcare. This event will take place at Eastern State Hospital on March 4, 2016. Lunch will be served and a tour of the new facility will be given in addition to the scheduled presentations. The hospital is sponsoring this community event so there is no cost associated with the presentation. Additional details are included in the attached flyer. Please feel free to contact me via the information below if you have any questions. Space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible. If you choose to attend and have special dietary requirements, please include that information in your RSVP email.
Blessings,
Mike
