The iLevel is here!

Our new iLevel demo chair has arrived and has been out on some inspiring demos. We are excited to give everyone the opportunity to feel the difference life at iLevel can make. Don't forget you can test drive the iLevel at the SelfCare inservices (see below)

What is iLevel?  It allows for 10" of seat elevation in 24 seconds while maintaining a walking speed of 3.5 mph (5.6 kilometres per hour).

Pride has set up a new website at ilevel.rehab to educate users and health care professionals on the iLevel. While this is US based, it does address the first "funding obstacle" to overcome; our own prejudgement that: "Nobody" pays for power adjustable seat height".  Read more on funding options

The Etude bed is in action at the new SelfCare Port Coquitlam store demonstrating the 4 types of rails available with the bed.

funding
iLevel Funding - Nobody pays for power adjustable seat height...

iLevel providers will "consider funding for power adjustable seat height on a case by case basis when it is shown to be essential for:"
  • Transfers (to the bed, to facilitate standing from an elevated position)
  • Reach (e.g. independent cooking in the kitchen, grocery shopping)
  • Access to the environment
  • Safety to see over obstacles like parked cars and to be seen
  • Communication and/or
  • Support identified vocational and educational goals
What does it cost? iLevel requires :
  • Edge 2.0 base ($8170 vs $7870 for Edge) +$300
  • Q-Logic electronics - $620 (but $2200 to add later as parts)
  • iLevel Option - $1995 until December 31, 2015 (then $2495)
The iLevel can be added later to an Edge 2.0 base. With benefits beyond the iLevel, most Edge power wheelchair users should consider purchasing the Edge 2.0 with Q-Logic (an addition $ 920) to maximize future options.
