Every week Email Club members receive important information regarding upcoming events and communications from The PTA and Strandwood staff via the Roadrunner. The Roadrunner also provides links to important fliers and new items on the PTA and school websites. Fall Fundraiser Going On NOW!

Strandwood's Fall Fundraiser is in full effect and will run through October 3rd. We have a lot of exciting new items and some trusted classics. There are also some great new incentives this year! This is one of our biggest fundraisers and we appreciate your continued support.

Calling all Dancers!

Strandwood's annual Nutcracker will be holding auditions for the roles of CLARA and 5th Grade Principal roles of: DROSSELMEYER, NUTCRACKER, RAT KING, and MAMA MOUSE.

Get your dance shoes ready and your permission slips in on time! Permission slips for Clara and 5th Grade roles are available HERE and HERE. Look for detailed information packets & permission slips to come home with your child/ren in communications folders next week.

**Permission slips must be turned in to be allowed to audition.**

Audition Dates & Times:

CLARA Auditions (open to all 3rd grade girls) - TUES SEPT 30th at 3pm in MUR

5th Grade (all roles) Auditions: WED OCT 1st at 12:30pm in MUR

No parents or siblings will be allowed to watch auditions.

Join the Library Birthday Book Club!

This year the library is continuing with the very special Birthday Book Club. Simply donate $15 to the Strandwood Library and a beautiful, new hardcover book will be given to the library in honor of your child's birthday. A custom made book plate will be placed in the book with your child's name and birthday displayed for years to come! To participate, see form HERE.

Strandwood Community Service Day

Part of Pleasant Hill's Annual Community Service Day, Sept. 27th!

Help make a difference at Strandwood by working on fun-filled projects
that will focus on the beautification of school grounds. Pleasant Hill's 10th Annual Community Service Day takes place Saturday, September 27th. It begins with a pancake breakfast at PH Park, then continues around the city with multiple clean-up sites, including our school!

We are looking for helpers between the hours of 9am - 1pm. Tasks include weeding, planting vegetation, and the general cleaning of our campus. Please bring gloves, water, sun screen, and

gardening tools. Plan on wearing old clothes that you can get dirty.

The first 600 volunteers who register at Pleasant Hill Park on the morning of the event receive a free T-Shirt (7:30am-8:30am). Free gardening gloves and snacks will also be distributed as part of the 10th anniversary celebration.

Student Directory

You still have two weeks to enter your child's information to be included in the Strandwood Student Directory. You must submit your

information ONLINE by September 26th.

Click here and fill out the online form for each child you would like to include, even if they were in the directory last year. You will only be included if you check the "yes" box authorizing the information to be included in the directory.

You can also promote your business in the Strandwood Student Directory! We will print a business card in the directory for $25; a half-page ad is $75, and a full-page is $150. Contact Laura Cutilletta at avpcomm@strandwood.org for more information.

Mad Science Begins Tuesday

For all those who signed up, Mad Science begins on Tuesday, September 23rd at 3:00pm in C-7, the Science Room. Please make sure that your kids go directly to the classroom after school and that they are promptly picked up. We are looking forward to a fun class!

Read and Dream Logs Due Friday

This month's Read and Dream logs are due this Friday, September 26th. Please have your completed logs turned in to your child teacher or the dedicated box in the office by 3pm. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work!
