Every Monday morning Email Club members receive important information regarding upcoming events and communications from The PTA and Strandwood staff via the Roadrunner. The Roadrunner also provides links to important fliers and new items on the PTA and school websites. Welcome back to school! Parents, don't forget to stop by the PTA Back to School Coffee Social in front of the MUR (multi-use room) after drop-off TODAY! Everyone is welcome. Enjoy a free cup of coffee and pastry!

 Correction to Read & Dream Dates

A correction has been made to the Read and Dream information page handed out in the Jump Start Day packet.  

 

All listed Turn-In days are correct; however, the Reward days are incorrect. A new information sheet can be found here, and will also be handed out to your students the first week of school along with their first reading log.

Fund For Excellence
GET A FREE LIMITED EDITION CAR MAGNET!
If you have not donated to the Fund For Excellence, please consider giving any amount today! We encourage you to give $1 a day, which amounts to $180 per child for the school year. You will receive a limited edition car magnet if you give this amount, though any donation is accepted! 

The Fund For Excellence allows our school to keep several important programs such as the Nutcracker, FAME (Fine Arts Mini Experience), assemblies, computer lab, Instructional Assistants and more! Without your donation we would not be able to continue these very special and vital programs. 

 

Fund For Excellence donations can be made in the office or online through PayPal. 

To make a donation online, go HERE. If you choose to donate a dollar a day ($180) per child, please forward a copy of your receipt to vpways@strandwood.org to receive your car magnet!

Early Bird Auction Tickets

Get your 2015 auction tickets during the Early Bird Sale! For the first time, ticket sales for the auction will be paperless!

During the first week of school ONLY, tickets will be on sale for $45 each. Hurry, this deal will only run from August 25th through August 29th.

Ticket sales will resume in February 2015 at $55 each, so take advantage of this low price now!
Back to School Nights

Back to School Nights are as follows: 

TK, Kinder, and 1st grade: Tuesday, August 26th 6:30-8pm (meet in MUR)
2nd & 3rd grade (includes Ms. Guncheon's 1/2 combo): Wednesday, August 27th 6:30-8pm (meet in MUR)
4th & 5th grade: Thursday, August 28th 6:30-8pm (meet in MUR)

Back to School Night is one of the most important events of the year. This is where your will get to know our Principal, Mrs. Kim, and find out about how you can be involved in the PTA. You will then get the chance to meet your children's teachers and find out all that they will be learning and experiencing throughout the school year.
