The Garden Committee Needs Your Help!

The Gardening Committee needs your help watering during the dry months to keep our campus looking great. Volunteers are needed for weekly shifts beginning now and continuing through the warm season. Watering duties take between 1 to 1½ hours per shift. With a group of volunteers we can spread out the work to make this a manageable task. Please contact Dan Stefanisko (dstefanisk@aol.com) to receive more information or see this flier and schedule a time that you can help.

 Jump Start Day Volunteers Needed

As we wind down the 2013-2014 school year, preparations are underway for Jump Start Day 2014! Many volunteers are needed for this important day held at the end of August, and we can use your help. Interested volunteers can contact Joscelyn Willett at vpcomm@strandwood.org or Laura Cutiletta at avpcomm@strandwood.orgThank you in advance!

5th Grade Social is Friday

WHAT: 5th Grade Social

WHEN: Friday, June 6th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

WHERE: Strandwood MUR

WHY: It's time for our 5th graders and their parents to come together as a community to celebrate before they move on to middle school.

All 5th graders are invited and at least one parent is required to attend (although both are encouraged to come!). No siblings please - this celebration is for 5th graders and their parents only. The evening will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our years at Strandwood...yearbooks will be handed out, yummy desserts will be shared, and more! Additional details will follow as we get closer to the event. In the meantime, please save the date! Questions? Contact Kelly Gallagher at kelgallagher@gmail.com.

The PTA Would Like Your Feedback!
Tell us what you think! We need your help to keep Strandwood at its best. Please take a few minutes to give us some valuable feedback: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Strandwood. Thank you!

Open House is Wednesday
June 4 @6:30pm

This Wednesday, June 4th is Open House! Please come check out the new buildings, visit with parents and see the efforts of our great teachers and students proudly displayed!

Buys Snacks During Open House!
Does touring your child's classroom make you and your child hungry or thirsty? You are in luck. Snacks and drinks will be available on the blacktop in exchange for donations to Outdoor Education. Look for the table on the upper grade playground.
Penny Wars Continue Through Friday!

Bring your extra pennies to school to help your class win Penny Wars! Pennies are like "points" and should be put in students' class buckets in the MUR. Other coins (nickels, dimes, etc.) act as "negative points" and should be put in OTHER grade levels' buckets. This is where the "war" comes in! Dump cash other than pennies (can even be dollars!) into class buckets to knock them down a rung or two and dump as many pennies in your OWN class bucket to climb ahead!

Collection is on now through June 6th! Thanks for playing! Proceeds go to Hospice of the East Bay.
Final Dyslexia Group

The final dyslexia parent support group before the fall will meet June 2nd at 8:30 a.m. in the Plaza Room of Church of the Resurrection, 399 Gregory Lane.  All interested parents and educators are invited. We will be sharing ideas and planning a summer social.  E-mail Amanda Szakats at amanda.szakats@gmail.com for more information.
