The Garden Committee Needs Your Help!

The Gardening Committee needs your help watering during the dry months to keep our campus looking great. Volunteers are needed for weekly shifts beginning now and continuing through the warm season. Watering duties take between 1 to 1½ hours per shift. With a group of volunteers we can spread out the work to make this a manageable task. Please contact Dan Stefanisko (dstefanisk@aol.com) to receive more information or see this flier and schedule a time that you can help.

 Jump Start Day Volunteers Needed

As we wind down the 2013-2014 school year, preparations are underway for Jump Start Day 2014! Many volunteers are needed for this important day held at the end of August, and we can use your help. Interested volunteers can contact Joscelyn Willett at vpcomm@strandwood.org or Laura Cutiletta at avpcomm@strandwood.orgThank you in advance!

Save the Date 5th Grade Families

Attention all 5th grade families!

Please save the date...Friday, June 6th

7:00pm-9:00pm

Thanks to the idea of a group of parents, the support of our incredible principal, Liz Kim, and wonderful teachers & staff, we are excited to announce the 5th Grade Social!

WHAT: 5th Grade Social

WHEN: Friday, June 6th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

WHERE: Strandwood MUR

WHY: It's time for our 5th graders and their parents to come together as a community to celebrate before they move on to middle school.

All 5th graders are invited and at least one parent is required to attend (although both are encouraged to come!). No siblings please - this celebration is for 5th graders and their parents only. The evening will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our years at Strandwood...yearbooks will be handed out, yummy desserts will be shared, and more! Additional details will follow as we get closer to the event. In the meantime, please save the date! Questions? Contact Kelly Gallagher at kelgallagher@gmail.com.

Congratulations to Our Girls on the Run!
Congratulations to Strandwood's "Girls on the Run" (GOTR) team for completing another season of GOTR and for doing a great job in the season's end 5k run! We are very proud of all of the girls.

A big "thank you" to our awesome GOTR coaches for volunteering your time, energy and making the 2014 Strandwood's Spring GOTR season another success! We also appreciate all of the "running buddies," families and other volunteers who came out to support the girls at the 5k.

We look forward to having this great after-school program continue at Strandwood for years to come. Be on the lookout for next year's GOTR Spring Season information at Jump Start Day and in Strandwood communications in the fall.

Congratulations and thank you again to all that participated. This program, in addition to many other great Strandwood programs, are not possible without parent support and volunteers.

If you would like more information regarding the Strandwood GOTR after-school program, please contact Tina Ochoa at tb-ochoa@att.net. For more information regarding the GOTR national program, visit the website at: www.gotrbayarea.org.
