That's Right - Another Parent's Night Out!

Turbo, Rated PG

Friday, May 16

Don't let your child miss all the fun! Kids in grades TK-5 (Strandwood students only) will have a great time watching Turbo in the MUR while you have a relaxing evening out and the 4th graders raise money for their Outdoor Ed program. Yes, you read correctly, this is a kid-only event! Please see the attached flyer and sign up form and look for one in your child's folder this week. Forms and payment should be dropped off in the PTA box in the office no later than May 12. This is a first-come, first-served event and may fill up quickly, so please turn in your forms ASAP. NO DROP-INS ALLOWED. Checks should be made out to Strandwood PTA. Snacks will be available at the movie, but please pre-order your pizza package ahead of time. Questions? Email movienight@strandwood.org.

Food Drive Ends Tomorrow!

Strandwood will be collecting food for the MDUSD Hope Program Food Bank through tomorrow, Friday, May 9th. The Hope Program serves families within our school district. Drop your cans in your child's classroom box. The winning class will get a reward!

Bike Safety Day is Saturday!
May 10, 2014

Saturday, May 10, from 10am to 1pm is the Bike Rodeo (Bike Safety) at Strandwood! Come join the fun on the upper grade playground - it's free and there are activities for the entire family. Have your bike checked, learn about helmet safety, complete an obstacle course, and meet Pleasant Hill Police Officers as they provide bike safety tips. Snacks will be provided by Grocery Outlet.

Also, we still need a few volunteers so please let us know if you can help out! Contact Ashley Rinn (ashleyrinn@gmail.com) if you wish to help out or have any questions. See you there!
Recycling Update
Congratulations to Ms. Hoffman's Class; they were the class that turned in the most bottles and cans for May 2. They get to hold on to the coveted recycling trophy for two more weeks!

The ice-cream party competition is back for the month of May. There is one major difference that will make it fun and exciting. This competion will be a Buddy Classes competition. If your class does not have a buddy class, get one! The combined number of bottles and cans turned in from the two buddy classes for the month of May will win the ice-cream party. The next collection date will be May 16th. Thank you!
