Every Monday morning Email Club members receive important information regarding upcoming events and communications from The PTA and Strandwood staff via the Roadrunner. The Roadrunner also provides links to important fliers and new items on the PTA and school websites.  Movie Night

May 16th, 6:30pm-9pm

 

Don't let your child miss all the fun! Kids in grades TK-5 (Strandwood students only) will have a great time watching Turbo in the MUR while you have a relaxing evening out and the 4th graders raise money for their Outdoor Ed program. Yes, you read correctly, this is a kid-only event! Please see this flyer and sign up form and look for one in your child's folder this week. Forms and payment should be dropped off in the PTA box in the office no later than May 12. This is a first-come, first-served event and may fill up quickly, so please turn in your forms ASAP. NO DROP-INS ALLOWED. Checks should be made out to Strandwood PTA. Snacks will be available at the movie, but please pre-order your pizza package ahead of time. Questions Email movienight@strandwood.org. 

Canned Food Drive Happening Now!
Through May 9th donate cans to your class 

 

From now until May 9, Strandwood will be collecting food for the MDUSD Hope Program Food Bank. The Hope Program serves families within our school district. Each class will have its own box to fill. The winning class will get a reward! 

 Dyslexia Parent Support Group
Next meeting is today at 8:30am

The next dyslexia parent support group meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. this morning in the Plaza room of Church of the Resurrection. We will continue discussing resources, including digital and online tools. All interested parents and educators are invited. Contact Amanda Szakats at amanda.szakats@gmail.com for more information. 

Strandwood is a Distinguished School!

Strandwood is one of only six Mount Diablo Unified School District elementary schools to earn the California Distinguished School title this year. Save the Date 5th Grade Families

Attention all 5th grade families!

Please save the date...Friday, June 6th

7:00pm-9:00pm

 

Thanks to the idea of a group of parents, the support of our incredible principal, Liz Kim, and wonderful teachers & staff, we are excited to announce the 5th Grade Social! 

 

WHAT: 5th Grade Social

WHEN: Friday, June 6th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

WHERE: Strandwood MUR

WHY: It's time for our 5th graders and their parents to come together as a community to celebrate before they move on to middle school.

All 5th graders are invited and at least one parent is required to attend (although both are encouraged to come!). No siblings please - this celebration is for 5th graders and their parents only. The evening will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our years at Strandwood...yearbooks will be handed out, yummy desserts will be shared, and more!
