The meal will include an appetizer, main dish and dessert. This is where you come in. Pick a month that works best for you April-November. Then pick a theme: vegetarian, BBQ, or whatever you like to cook best. You can team up with a friend to produce an exciting meal and here's the best part. There's DRAMA at Strandwood...!
By Renee Penegor
I am excited to introduce STAGE PLAY, a new after-school drama class for Strandwood kids, grades 1 - 5. STAGE PLAY aims to spark creativity, build theatre skills and grow your child's confidence. Using theatre games & activities to explore the Actor's tools (imagination, voice, body) we will become an ensemble and create a show together, with a focus on process, from improvisation and scriptwriting to performance. A nurturing, positive environment will encourage creative risk-taking and above all we will have fun! Our last class will be a performance for family & friends. No prior theatre experience is necessary.

DATES: March 12th - May 21st
DAYS: Every Wednesday from 12:30pm - 2pm
LOCATION: Strandwood (dates & room location TBD)
COST: $150/student (siblings get 20% discount)

A parent volunteer is required for this program and if you are interested in this position, your child's fee for the class is waived. Questions or to enroll, please contact reneepenegor@hotmail.com.

by Cindy Turner

Attention 5th grade parents! Are you facing the prospect of middle school next year and wondering about the future? Looking to get involved and meet new parents, teachers and administrators? We need your help! There are several open positions on the Pleasant Hill Middle School PTSA Board. It's not too early to jump in. Remember past Strandwood PTA President Sue Noack? She's our PTSA President and her child is only in 6th grade! Please me directly at pcturner@sbcglobal.net. I would love to discuss the open volunteer positions, levels of commitment/time, etc. Thanks so much!
