Holiday Gift Shoppe Coming Next Week!
Please consider volunteering for a shift!
Strandwood's Holiday Gift Shoppe takes place next Tuesday, December 10th through Friday, December 13th during school hours. You should have received your child's budget envelope in his/her Communication Folders this week. We currently need volunteers to help work the Gift Shoppe. Please consider working for an hour to help the children shop!

We still need over 50 volunteers to make this a successful event for your children!

Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts if your time allows. Each shift is approximately 70 minutes and you would be helping guide students through the gift shop. Below is the direct link to the Sign-Up Genius for this event:

If you have any additional questions about this event or volunteering for it, please email
Kathy Mazur or call 925-858-5669.

IMPORTANT: If your child would like to participate please make sure to have them bring their completed budget envelope with cash or check made out to Strandwood PTA on their scheduled gift shop day. Students who do not bring money will remain in classroom with their teacher. Items range in price from $.25 to $10.00.

2013 Nutcracker Performance Day - Saturday, December 7th!

The long anticipated 2013 Nutcracker Performance finally arrives tomorrow! We are very excited for our Strandwood families to enjoy an entertaining and festive day. To ensure safety and a fun experience for all, please be sure to review all information provided below and in the links for the show that your child(ren) is performing in.

Check-in:

Performers must arrive at least 45 minutes prior to their show start time. Click on the link below that applies to your child's show for detailed time and costume information. Students without costume basics will not be allowed to perform.
1st through 5th grade: Please drop off AND pick up your child at the "check-in" table at the gate located by the school office.

Kindergarten: Please drop off AND pick up your child at their assigned classroom (D-1 for Little Mice & D-2 for Russian Ribbons).

Your child will be supervised at all times by volunteer Dressing Room parents. No other parents are allowed in the Dressing Rooms (classrooms) at any time on Performance Day. NO CHILD WILL BE DISMISSED FROM A CLASSROOM UNTIL THE END OF THE PERFORMANCE. NO EXCEPTIONS! THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL CHILDREN.

Seating Policy:

Each performer gets two "seats" to the show. For example, if you have one child in show 1 then you will receive two seats. If you have two children in show 1, you will receive four seats. There will be a list at the door and guests may check-in under the student's name. We have very large casts this year so seating is very limited. Our audience numbers are based on fire code capacity, therefore we need to count people in the room (including babies & small children), not actual chairs taken. No strollers are allowed in the MUR and please, no sitting on heaters!

Parking:

The school parking lot has a limited number of spaces; however, there will be signs directing you to additional parking available at the back of the school (upper grade kids playground - blacktop area). Auction winners for the "front row" Nutcracker performances will have designated parking spots in the main school parking lot. Try to keep the drop off zones in the parking lot clear and abide by all safety/traffic rules (remember there will be many pedestrians and children present). Keep all FIRE ZONES clear; no parking where there are red lines.
