Thank you to all who signed up to support Outdoor Ed. If you RSVP'ed to the movie night and would like to order pizza (cheese or pepperoni) and a drink for your child for $3, please e-mail movienight@strandwood.org TODAY. You can pay at the door, but you must pre-order. 

Join the Band

Is your child in 4th or 5th grade?

Do they want to learn how to play an instrument?  

 

Strandwood's After-School Beginner Band is the perfect place for your student to learn how to play and perform with a group. Taught by Robin Eig, owner of Rockin' Robbies/East Bay Music in Concord, Strandwood's After-School Beginner Band is a fun and supportive environment in which to learn.  

 

Beginner Band will be on Tuesdays from 2:50pm - 3:50pm (directly after school dismissal) from October 1 through May 20. The cost is $300 (just $10 per class!). Instruction is held in the B-5 Music Room.

Deadline Extension for Student Directory
New deadline is September 23rd
Please click HERE to be included in the 2013/2014 Student Directory! You must fill out this form if you would like your child(ren) to be listed, even if you signed up last year. The directories will go home with all students in the fall. This is a very useful tool and we encourage you to be part of the directory! 

 

The new deadline to submit information is September 23rd.

Head to Magoo's Grill with family and friends for a delicious meal and support our public schools at the same time! During September, Magoo's Grill of Pleasant Hill will donate 50% of proceeds made from your order to the FPHE 2013-2014 school grant program!!  

 

Additional details:
  • This special runs throughout the entire month of September.

Community Service Day
September 28, 2013

 

Please help make a difference at Strandwood by working on fun and important projects during this year's Community Service Day! We will be focusing on the beautification of school grounds from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on September 28, 2013. Tasks include weeding, planting vegetation, painting and repairing a fence, and general cleaning of the campus. Please bring gloves, water, sunscreen, and gardening tools. Plan on wearing old clothes that you can get dirty!

 

Pleasant Hill's 9th annual Community Service Day is on Saturday, Sept. 28th beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Park, 147 Gregory Lane. The first 600 volunteers get a free t-shirt, snacks and a free pancake breakfast served up by the Lions Club. Immediately following the breakfast at the park, volunteers disperse to their various school sites.

Help Plan the 2014 Dinner/Dance Auction!

Are you ready to get involved, have fun and meet new people? Then mark your calendar! On Thursday, September 19th, please come meet us in the Multi-Use room after drop-off (8:15 am) to kick off the planning of the 2014 Dinner Dance Auction. We will be discussing the venue, theme, committee assignments, donations and other items on the auction calendar. We would love to welcome new ideas! Whether you are a new Strandwood parent or a past volunteer, we value your input! There are many ways to get involved, so come to the meeting to find out how! We will have coffee and pastries for you to enjoy. Thank you!

New Strandwood Spirit Wear!
Show off your Strandwood school spirit with our new line of Spirit Wear! We have new Camo Sweatshirts, Trucker Hats, Shorts, Beanies, and more. Most items are available in both kid & adult sizes. You can even personalize your apparel with your first or last name! Stop by the Spirit Wear table every Friday after school (September & October) to check out all of our new gear. We will be located in the front of the school, near the office. Everything is made to order, so bring exact cash or your checkbook with you. (Samples of items are available to determine sizes, colors, etc.)

Can't make it after school? Print the order form here and turn it in to the PTA Basket, located inside the office. Please make checks out to Strandwood PTA.

Orders were delivered to your child's classroom on Friday, Sept 13th. If you did not receive your order, or have any questions or issues, please email Kerry at spiritwear@strandwood.org.
