Help a Fellow Strandwood Parent

Please support Juan Carlos, Jacob, and Miranda Medina in their time of grief.

As you can imagine, this family is in a state of shock and completely overwhelmed right now after the passing of Carla. The Medina family really needs the support of their Strandwood family right now. We want them to know that they are not alone.

We have set up a website at https://lotsahelpinghands.com/c/704326/. Click on the "join this community" link to request access. If you can help with meals for this family and perhaps other tasks that may be needed, please join this site.

In addition, if you are able to help with any kind of monetary donation, that would be very much appreciated. Make checks payable to "Juan Carlos Medina", and reference account #524003 on the check. You can put it in the box in the office or mail to:

Travis Credit Union

1257 Willow Pass Road

Concord, CA 877-8328

(800)877-8328

If you have questions, please feel free to email Maren Anton at marenanton@gmail.com or Debbie Wilson at Debbie_Wilson@comcast.net. Additionally, If you know of any other family or individual who needs community support, please don't hesitate to contact Debbie.

Thank you for any assistance you can give this family in this very difficult time.

Fingerprinting and TB Testing for School Volunteers

The Pleasant Hill Education Initiative encourages volunteers at our Pleasant Hill schools. All volunteers must be fingerprinted and TB tested. The Initiative is offering fingerprinting and TB testing in conjunction with Mt. Diablo Unified School District.

  • The first fingerprinting session will take place at the Pleasant Hill Police Department (330 Civic Drive) on Saturday, June 1st from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To sign up and select your time, please visit this link.
  • TB testing takes place on Tuesday, June 11th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm (drop in) at the Community Rooms at City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane. You need to return on June 13th, same hours and place, for the results to be read.

Help Strandwood Grow!
by Dan Stefanisko

The Gardening Committee needs your help watering during the dry months to keep our campus looking great. Volunteers are needed for weekly shifts beginning now and continuing through the warm season. Watering duties take between 1 to 1½  hours per shift. With a group of volunteers we can spread out the work to make this a manageable task. Please contact Dan Stefanisko (dstefanisk@aol.com) to receive more information and schedule a time when you can help. Thank you!
