Staff Appreciation Week Update
THANK YOU, STRANDWOOD COMMUNITY!
By Julie Ebding & Megan Wilson - PTA VPs of Hospitality
Thank you parents, grandparents, family members, and community for your generous donations of food, supplies, flowers, and your time to help make our staff feel appreciated last week. Your efforts to recognize our well-deserving staff were very much appreciated. We are fortunate to be part of such a giving community!

(Please note: Serving dishes and utensils used during Staff Appreciation Week are available for pick-up in the PTA Room.)

Please remember to turn in your Read & Dream logs this Friday, March 29th by 3:00 pm. You may turn the logs in to your child's teacher or to our box on the wall in the office. If you ever need a blank Read & Dream form you can find them in the office or online at www.strandwood.org (click on the "forms" link in the middle of the home page). Due to Spring Break, books will be awarded on Friday, April 12th. Please remember to begin recording your April reading minutes over the break. Happy reading!

Running Buddies Needed!

Strandwood's Girls on the Run team is now recruiting Running Buddies to support our athletes at the Girls on the Run 5K in Golden Gate Park on Saturday, May 11. Partner with an incredible girl from our team, then run the Girls on the Run 5K with her - encouraging her, cheering her on and sharing in her excitement along the way! You will recognize your buddy's limits and support her to achieve her goals. What a great way to get inspired while having the time of your life!

Running Buddies must meet the following requirements:

1. Be at least 16 years old by April 12.

2. Model enthusiastic, supportive, fun and flexible behaviors at all times.

3. Attend our practice 5K on Monday, April 22 at 3 pm (at Strandwood) to meet your buddy and help her finish her practice race.

4. Be available for the Girls on the Run 5K on Saturday, May 11 at 8:45 am. (You will need to register and pay for the race separately. Registration fee is $36.)

5. Agree to a basic background screening by Girls on the Run if not assigned by a parent of one of our athletes.

6. Have a fabulous time supporting your buddy.

Please email Molly McCabe at molz5791@yahoo.com if you are interested in being a running buddy.

Please be sure to note if you have a specific girl you want to buddy with.
