Strandwood Auction is Ready to Hit the Links (Sort of...)!!

Even though we really aren't golfing at our auction this year, we are setting our sights on a hole-in-one event! The Dinner Dance and Auction committee is hard at work to bring you another successful and fun evening. We are so excited to introduce new families to our annual tradition and give them a warm welcome as we gather on March 2nd at the Contra Costa Country Club. Your child should have come home this week with our first monthly newsletter which provides information regarding the important dates for the auction.
If you are a new family, please go to www.strandwood.org and visit the Auction section. There you will find great information, including the "New Parent's Guide." TK and Kinder families have all received this, but all others, please check it out!
We have reached out to over 600 businesses and have begun to collect a great variety of donation items, but we are always looking for more. If you have a business in mind that may be willing to donate their services or items, please contact Jessie Thomas ( jandbthomas@yahoo.com). There are donation letters and forms available on www.strandwood.org in the Auction section, or in the school office. It is very easy to print some up and have them on hand when the opportunity arises. Keep in mind your hairdresser, handyman, favorite restaurant, store or service provider. Please let Jessie know if you have acquired a donation.
We are always looking for those "big ticket" items that are the core fundraisers of our auction. If you have a vacation home, airline miles, a willingness to host a sign-up party, own a business, can offer a service, or have any other great ideas, please let us know! Strandwood families are the most valuable resource we have in attaining auction items!
Auction packets will go home on Feb. 4, and ticket sales will then begin! Please stay tuned for more information to come!! We will be updating you weekly through special Wednesday e-Blasts and newsletters in your child's folder.
We also would love to have you as part of our team. If you want to help with ANY part of the auction, please email Jessie Thomas (jandbthomas@yahoo.com). We will be having more meetings in the coming weeks and welcome you all!

PTA Meeting TONIGHT

Please join us for this month's General PTA Meeting TONIGHT at 7 pm in the Library. In addition to our normal agenda, Strandwood's 1st grade teachers will be presenting. This is a great opportunity for parents of Kindergarteners to see what next year will be like for your children! Hope to see you there! As always, babysitting is provided at no charge.
