We are recruiting volunteer coaches for an exciting athletic program designed for 3rd to 5th-grade girls coming this Spring! You do not need to have running, coaching or teaching experience to be a Girls on the Run coach. All curriculum, lesson & training structure is provided by Girls on the Run.
* Do you have a sincere interest in leading a healthy life?
* Do you have an interest in the issues facing young women today?
* Do you want to commit to the positive development of young girls?
* Do you wish that a program that prepares girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living had been available when you were growing up?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you could be a coach!
Girls on the Run provides a safe (non-competitive) environment for young girls to share, discuss and learn about issues they all are facing today (gossip, body image, self respect, building confidence, etc.). In addition, they learn about living a healthy lifestyle, reinforced by group running that is integrated into each lesson / meeting. The big pay off is when all girls participate in running a 5K at the end of the program, at which their family, friends and other Strandwood students are welcome to participate or just cheer the girls on!
Join over 5,000 women who have already committed to this mission, and help make the difference today!
