Every Monday Email Club members receive important information regarding upcoming events and communications from The PTA and Strandwood staff via the Roadrunner. The Roadrunner also provides links to important flyers and new items on the PTA and school websites. Picture Day Tomorrow

Strandwood's Fall Picture Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 16th.
Fall photos must be pre-ordered by completing the order form that has come home in your child's Communication Folder.

Fall Fest is Friday!

Fallfest is right around the corner. Bring the entire family and have a great time this coming Friday, October 19th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
We'll have two food vendors, beverages and lots of baked goods for sale, so bring your appetites and some spending cash. Participate in our famous cake walk, compete in the pumpkin carving contest, or enter your kid(s) in the pie eating contest! There will be music, games, and fun for all. And don't forget the Book Fair in the library, as well! All proceeds benefit the students, school, and various PTA programs.
If you have some spare time before or during the event, we're still looking for volunteers to help with all the activities.

4th Grade Parents Needed for Fall Fest

Calling all 4th grade parents! We need your help at the Fall Fest Snack Bar and Bake Sale! This is the first fundraising opportunity for Outdoor Ed, so please lend some time if you can. A group of Strandwood's 4th grade Campfire girls will be running the Snack Bar/Bake Sale at this year's Fall Fest on Friday, October 19th. All proceeds will go toward the Outdoor Ed goal. Please help by donating any of the items below: (All baked items will be sold for $1, so package accordingly) - Rice Krispy Treats (Individually packaged)
- Cupcakes (Individually packaged)
- Halloween Cookies (Individually packaged)
- Other type of Cookies (Individually packaged)
- Other type of dessert item (Individually packaged)
- Cases of Bottled Water
- Juice Boxes
If you can donate one or more of the items above please email Jessie Thomas at jandbthomas@yahoo.com to let us know. We ask that you bring the items the day of Fall Fest (Friday, October 19) between 2 - 5pm and drop them at the designated Snack Bar area. If you have a conflict at that time please let Jessie Thomas know, and we can work around your schedule. Thank you in advance for your donation and time! |

Nutcracker Clothes Collection
We are starting to collect donations for the Nutcracker Clothes Closet. The Clothes Closet will be a resource for people to borrow the basic costumes needed for the Nutcracker performances. We are in need of the following items:
-Black sweats, pants and tops (sized for Kindergarteners)
-Grey sweats, pants and tops (sized for 1st grade boys)
-Black shirts (sized for 2nd grade boys)
-Party dresses (sized for 3rd grade girls)
-Collared dress shirts (sized for 3rd grade boys)
-Ties (sized for 3rd grade boys)
-Boys' black pants (all sizes)
-White turtlenecks (all sizes)
-Black, white and beige leotards (sizes 5 and up)
-Black and white ballet shoes
Donations can be placed in the basket located in the hall outside the MUR. If you have any questions about donations, or are interested in borrowing items, please contact Alexandra Kemp at nutcrackercloset@strandwood.org. |

 Limited Edition Spiritwear
Spiritwear is premiering two new shirt designs this week - Tie Dye and Nutcracker! These limited edition tees will only be available on a pre-order basis, and will be sold October 15th through November 1st. Don't miss out on these amazing new designs!
1. Strandwood Spiritwear celebrates the coming winter season with a Nutcracker-themed design. Show your spirit and commemorate this long standing tradition at Strandwood. These shirts may not be offered again, so stock up on different sizes while you can!
2. The second addition is a Tie Dye Spiritwear shirt. Your kids have been waiting and asking about these, and now they'll get their chance to sport this groovy look! Choose from 5 different color options. Tie Dye shirts are available in both long-sleeved and short-sleeved options, and are 100% cotton. These will make great holiday gifts and will brighten up the school during the winter!

Pre-order Your Nutcracker DVDs

Preserve your Nutcracker memories by ordering a DVD of your child's show. Order forms can be found in your child's Nutcracker information packet or by clicking here. Drop your order form with payment in the Nutcracker box in the office.
NOTE: We are looking for one more volunteer to help sell DVDs at show 2. Simply arrive 10 minutes before the performers are scheduled to arrive and stay at the booth for 10 minutes following the show. If you are interested, please e-mail communications@strandwood.org.
