2015 Winter Leadership Institute-Washington, DC



The 2015 Winter Leadership Institute took place in Washington DC where early learning professionals gathered to address policy questions and meet with members of Congress to discuss the importance & impact of Early Head Start and Head Start nationwide. Your Head Start of Greater Dallas was in attendance to advocate as well as gain insight on emerging developments from Washington!

Martin Luther King Holiday-Center      Highlights

In honor of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., students and staff from the Wanda Meshack-Smith center displayed their gratitude through arts and crafts! The students from Ms. Warren and Ms. Parker class room 10 shared their personal dreams and learned about the impact of Dr. King and other classrooms decorated their room doors!

National African American History Month
Get into the heart of African American history Month! Our centers have tons of events and activities taking place in honor of National African American History Month! Check in our March issue for a highlight from the centers!

Center Highlights: Roseland Homes

Muffins with Mom Event! Moms were pampered with sweet deserts at Roseland Homes Head Start. The faculty and Staff prepared delicious cupcakes and deserts for mothers to enjoy when they dropped their little ones off to school. Just a small token of appreciation for our moms!

National Heart Awareness Month
Go Red Heart Disease Awareness- February is National Heart Awareness Month! Enjoy this Heart Healthy Tip and spread the word about strategies for preventing heart disease and encourage people to live heart healthy lives.
Our students and staff over at Lake June Head Start made sure to #GORED for #NationalWearRedDay to join the fight to end heart disease in women! Heart disease is biggest health risk to women according to the American Heart Association. Stay Heart Healthy!!
