School Year Ends June 2
|
The last day of school for the 2015-2016 school year will be Thursday June 2. Don't forget that we are also closed Monday May 30 for Memorial Day.

Rowley and Gnadt Elected
|
 Kelley Rowley (left) was elected to Place 5 on the Board of Trustees in the May 7 election. She was sworn in on May 16. Also sworn in was Amy Gnadt (r) who ran unopposed for Place 4 in the election and will begin serving her second term of office.

Planning Underway For Allen ISD STEM Center
|
 Planning is underway for Allen ISD's Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Center. The project, which was approved as part of the 2015 bond proposal, is scheduled to open in August 2018.
The first step of outlining the STEM curriculum and programs is complete. Architects will present concepts to accommodate those programs at the June 27 school board meeting.

2015-2016 Teachers of the Year Announced
|
Congratulations to Allen ISD's 2016 District Teachers of the Year. Allen High School Spanish teacher and PALs advisor, Jennifer Clements (above), was named the Secondary Teacher of the Year. 
Cheatham Elementary School third grade teacher Amanda Perkins (above center) was named the Elementary Teacher of the Year. Both teachers will be recognized at the district's annual awards breakfast on May 20.

AHS To Award Diplomas To 1,544 Seniors On June 3
|
A total of 1,544 seniors will receive diplomas at the 216 Allen High School graduation ceremony on June 3 starting at 7:30 p.m. in Eagle Stadium. Leading the class as valedictorian will be Amy Huang. The class salutatorian will be Richard Bui. The remaining top ten students in descending order are Clara Ho, Michelle Dai, Lirit Fuksman, Eric Sun, Mikhail Lanier, Sadmaan Sarker, Jason Tsai and Eric Chang.

Spring Game Thursday
|
 Looking for a taste of Allen Eagle football this month? The annual Spring football game will be held on Thursday May 19 starting at 5:30 p.m. for JV and 7 p.m. for Varsity at Eagle Stadium. (Full Schedule)
Also, a limited number of Eagle Football season tickets are still available. These tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis at the Athletic Office located at 301 Rivercrest on Tuesday June the 7th from 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Rountree Celebrates 40th
|
 Allen's oldest existing elementary school will celebrate its 40th birthday with a celebration / party on Thursday May 26 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. The school will unveil an historical marker and the program will include appearances by many former teachers and principals. Plan on attending the celebration if you have some Roadrunner in you. |
Community Ed Summer Camp Signups Underway

Registration for the 2016 Community Education Summer Camps is underway. Camp location will alternate weeks between Cheatham Elementary (1501 Hopewell Dr.) and Reed Elementary (1200 Rivercrest Blvd). The fee for each camp is only $109 per camp/per student for each week. Learn more here.

 Allen ISD staff members who retired during the 2015-2016 school year will be recognized for their service on Friday at the Superintendent's Annual Recognition Breakfast.
