Notes from Bishop Mark
● Visitation Calendar: Lynn and I are in the process of scheduling my visitation calendar for the first six months of 2017. Please let Lynn know if you have preferences for particular Sundays. Also, if you have any special occasions or date specific planning, like the conclusion of a large confirmation class or a celebration of new ministry, let us know this.
● Lynchburg Convocation at the Hillcats Baseball Game: This past Tuesday night the Lynchburg Convocation hosted a cookout event at the Hillcats baseball game. It was a great time of fun and fellowship. It was my honor and joy to share this summer evening with so many Episcopalians. Thank you to Aubrey Rosser and Convocation President Jo Ann Kelley for organizing the event. (I am still waiting for the Roanoke Convocation to host a night at the Salem Red Sox.) Right: Bishop Mark throws out the first pitch.
● Bishop Light Recovery: Bishop Heath Light continues to recover and increase in strength. He even drove over to Evans House this week to pick up his mail. Please keep his ongoing healing in your prayers.
● Visitations: Last Sunday I worshipped with the people of St. Paul's, Bear Mountain. (Click the red link to see more photos.) After a hearty lunch, I was shown the site of the new Memorial Garden in honor and memory of Chief Sharon Bryant. This week, my visitation will be at Christ Episcopal Church, Buena Vista. Right: Members of St. Paul's, Bear Mountain, with Bishop Mark
● Pastoral: Please continue to hold in your prayers the Rev. Conrad McNeer, the Rev. John Furgerson, and the Rev. Rod Sinclair, who are dealing with health issues.
