Joining God in the Neighborhood.
What is God calling your church to do in its neighborhood? We believe God calls us all to mission. And mission is never simply general or abstract, but always involves connecting with particular people and places with the Good News.
Learn some beginning steps in discovering your church's particular missions at Joining God in the Neighborhood, a daylong conference at Christ Episcopal Church, Blacksburg, on Saturday, August 27, from 9 AM--3 PM.
In partnership with The Missional Network, this conference will provide lay and clergy leaders with basic skills in listening for God's call to mission in scripture, in each other, and in the neighborhood. Teams of leaders from congregations will be introduced to Living Local: Joining God, an 18-month program of guidance and training to help congregations discern, design, enact, and learn from specific mission action in their neighborhoods.
For more information, or to register a team from your parish, contact The Rev. Paul Nancarrow at rector@trinitystaunton.org, the Rev. Canon Mark Furlow at markfurlow@mac.com, or the Rev. Canon Kathy Dunagan at kdunagan@dioswva.org.
