Another New Deacon Postulant: Dick Willis from Christ Episcopal Church, Roanoke, was made a postulant for the diaconate. 
 
Pastoral Concerns: The Rev. Shelby Owen's father-in-law, Robbie Owen, died in an accident last week. May he rest in the peace of Christ. Please keep Steve, Shelby, and their family in your prayers. 

Meetings: This week Canon Harris and I met with the vestry of Grace, Radford, to discuss plans for the upcoming search for their next rector. Next week I will attend my final session of the three-year program for new bishops at the the College for Bishops at the Roslyn Center in Richmond.

Hymns In Times of Crisis is a resource available through The Hymn Society for use during times of crisis due to death, natural disaster, or family struggles. The publishers, authors and composers have graciously granted permission for parishes to use any of the hymns in this collection at no royalty cost for two months following the crisis, and at any memorial or remembrance service held within one year of the event. Enjoy the Summer Festival of Organ Music at Christ, Roanoke, on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM. Outstanding players present varied and entertaining programs followed by festive receptions in the Parish Hall. Guest organists will be William McCorkle (Lexington, VA) on July 12; John Cummins (Winston-Salem, NC) on July 19; Jeremy Thompson (Charlottesville, VA) on July 26; and Daniel Stipe (Richmond, VA) on August 2. All are welcome!

St. Elizabeth's, Roanoke, invites you to "Have a picnic at our place!" on July 10, from 5--7 PM. This event is free and open to the public. Sit under the big oak tree and enjoy an outdoor concert with dixieland jazz band Fat Tuesdays, Dojo Grilled Cheese food truck, and Cool Blue Ice Cream truck. Bring a chair, a blanket, a friend, and a picnic with beverage of your choice. 

 
● Art Camp is an opportunity to explore photography, drawing, pottery, drama, calligraphy, music, and painting. Traditional activities such as games, swimming, worship,  movies, and hikes in the woods take place as well. Read more about all the summer sessions
