All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
and great shall be the peace of your children!
Isaiah 54:13
In our last email, a member of the group asked what other churches are offering for teens or could suggest for a small group of teens.

Katy Henning (St. Paul's, Salem) shared a link about their Shepherd mentoring program. St. Paul's Youth go by the name "SPY" and usually meet for about 20 minutes on Sunday mornings for doughnuts and a short devotion. On Sunday evenings during the school year, six to ten youth usually gather for two hours, which includes a longer devotion or Bible study, dinner, and a team-building exercise. The parish serves in a missional way to middle school students from the community who pass by the church on their way home from school. Read about First Fridays.

A new resource for children and teens that might liven up the summer is intended to take the place of traditional Vacation Bible School. Arts Camp is available for $29.95 through Church Publishing (slightly less on Amazon). "Arts Camp provides all the practical, concrete instructions needed to plan, organize, staff, and conduct an annual five-day Arts Camp, including a Sunday Celebration. Each chapter includes details on art projects, programming, music, drama, games, and resources." Click here to view sample content.

Nancy Kershner (Ascension, Amherst) has materials she'd like to share with others, free of charge. Please contact her if you are interested: nkershner54@gmail.com.
