● A Scholarship Fund for the South Sudanese African youth has been set up to provide for the Middle and High School youth to attend diocesan retreats and summer camps at Phoebe Needles. The South Sudanese Christian Fellowship is a nesting congregation at St. James, Roanoke, and they have been meeting every Sunday evening at 5:30 PM for worship since Trinity Sunday 2009. There are a growing number of youth who are eligible to attend diocesan youth events, and the young people are very eager to participate. Contributions are invited to support the Christian Formation of the South Sudanese youth. Checks can be sent to St. James Episcopal Church, 4515 Delray Street, NW, Roanoke, VA 24012; please designate in the memo line, "South Sudanese Youth Scholarship". For more information, contact the Rev. Susan Bentley, 540-366-4157 or SEB@rev.net.
● Love Feast: Together at the Table: On March 20 at 6:30 PM, at St. John's, Roanoke, Martha Bourlakas will lead a discussion of faith, disability, and food based on her book Love Feast: Together at the Table, which was released in February. Join her in a look at the unexpected ways we experience God's grace through our perfectly imperfect selves and those walking beside us. Please come share a glorious feast of love!
