● Senior Wardens and Parochial Clergy: please remember to respond to the survey regarding life insurance benefits for clergy and lay employees as soon as possible. Input is still needed from approximately thirty parishes before we can move forward with a possible Open Enrollment period.

An evening of celebration at St. James', Roanoke
|
● Last Sunday, Bishop Mark worshipped with St. James', Roanoke, including an evening service with the Sudanese congregation, at which one was baptized, two were confirmed, and one was received. (Click the red link to see more photos.) This week, he is attending the House of Bishops meeting at Camp Allen. His "Notes" section of the Weekly Update will return next week.

Connecting with the Diocese
● Safeguarding God's Children Training will take place at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (42 East Main Street, Salem, VA) on Sunday, April 10, from 1 PM to 4 PM. This training is for all who work with children and youth in any capacity, for vestry members, and for leadership team members. Parents, guardians and childcare givers are also welcome and encouraged to attend. To register, contact Maile Armstrong at 540-947-5016 or mailearmstrong@verizon.net. There is no cost to attend.
● Love Feast: Together at the Table: On March 13 and 20 at 6:30 PM, at St. John's, Roanoke, Martha Bourlakas will lead a discussion of faith, disability, and food based on her book Love Feast: Together at the Table, which was released in February. Join her in a look at the unexpected ways we experience God's grace through our perfectly imperfect selves and those walking beside us. Please come share a glorious feast of love!

● The Province III Synod will be held April 24 and 25 in Martinsburg, WV. There will also be a conference there on April 25 and 26, entitled "Calling the Future Church. Learn more about both events by clicking here.
● The Constitution, Canons and Rules of Order of The Episcopal Church, reflecting all updates and amendments approved at the 78th General Convention, is now available in English. Learn more.
● A special conference designed for leaders in ministry with young adults on and off college campuses, Nourish: Young Adult and Campus Ministry Leadership Conference is slated for June 26-29 at the Maritime Institute near Baltimore, MD. Learn more, register, or apply to be on the design team here.
● The 60th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) meeting in New York City March 14 to March 24 will gather women from The Episcopal Church and throughout the Anglican Communion. Read more.
