Clergy and Lay Delegates and Alternates are all asked to attend the January convocation meetings in advance of Council 2016. Others are welcome to attend as well.

 

The purpose of the January Convocation meetings, as defined by Canon 24, is to review and explore the matters and resolutions to come before Council. 

 

These meetings are scheduled for Sunday, January 17, at the times and places listed at this link. At the discretion of the Dean and President, January 24 will serve as a snow date if needed. Meetings are planned to last approximately two hours but may be extended at the President's discretion. 

 

 

Online Council registration at the early-bird price closes on January 18.

If you have not registered by that date, plan to register on-site at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center when you come to Council. Be prepared to pay the full cost of $175 at that time. (Incidental costs, such as the cost of parking and breakfast, are not included in your Council registration fee.)

Check-In begins at noon on Friday, January 29, and ends at 4:30 PM. Clergy and spouses who are already registered to meet with Bishop Mark and Martha Bourlakas on Friday morning may pick up their name tags at 9:30 AM. Printed Council materials will be available at noon.

Late Registration and Balloting begin at noon on Friday, January 29, and end at 4:30 PM. Meal tickets may not be purchased after that time, but the Regency Room and Pine Room Pub are available on the hotel premises. Late Registration will reopen at 8:30 AM on Saturday.

New delegate orientation takes place at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 29. Council business begins at 2 PM and ends by 4:30 PM.

The Finance Committee, Resolutions Committee, and Constitution and Canons Committee will be available for open hearings on Friday, January 29, at 3:30 PM.
