Tonight, I will ordain Susan Peyton to the Sacred Order of Deacons at 7 PM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Staunton.
● The Commission on Ministry is ready to receive aspirants for ordained ministry: The Commission on Ministry has finalized details on the new discernment process. That process is now open and ready to receive aspirants for discernment towards Holy Orders. Please pray and think about members of your community that God may be calling. The new process is now on our diocesan website here .
● Upcoming Ordinations and Installation for Your Calendar: God willing and the people consenting, I will ordain to the Sacred Order of Priests,
--The Rev. Canon Connor Gwin on December 5 at 3 PM at Christ Episcopal Church in Roanoke. --The Rev. Kimberly Glenn on December 12 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church in Lynchburg. --The Rev. Whitney Burton on January 16 at a time to be determined at St. John's Episcopal Church in Roanoke. I will install The Rev. Alexander MacPhail as the Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Roanoke, on November 18 at 7 PM.

● Sunday Visitations and Weekly Meetings: Last Sunday I worshipped with the people of Grace Memorial, Lynchburg. There were two confirmations, one reception, and six reaffirmations. This Sunday I will visit Trinity, Arrington.
● Survey Regarding a Lodge at The Phoebe Needles Center: As discussed at our fall convocation meetings, the Diocesan Executive Board and the Phoebe Needles Center Board are working to assess the need and costs for an Adult Lodge at the Phoebe Needles Camp and Conference Center in Callaway. This short survey will provide important input to our consideration of mission priorities. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. It is here.

● Debbie Norton (St. Paul's, Martinsville) has made several copies of a terrific resource available to the diocese--Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration, for use with children whose parents have been incarcerated. Each kit includes both Spanish and English versions of a Sesame Street DVD, a Guide for Parents and Caregivers, and a Children's Storybook. One kit will stay in the BMRC, but the others are looking for good homes. If interested, please contact Kate Garcia.
