January Convocation Meetings

Clergy and Lay Delegates and Alternates are all asked to attend the January convocation meetings in advance of Council 2015. Others are welcome to attend as well.

The purpose of the January Convocation meetings, as defined by Canon 24, is to review and explore the matters and resolutions to come before Council.

These meetings are scheduled for Sunday, January 11, at the times and places listed on the right. At the discretion of the Dean and President, January 18 will serve as a snow date if needed. Meetings are planned to last approximately two hours but may be extended at the President's discretion.

Printed copies of the materials linked below will be available in booklet form at your convocation meeting.

Council 2015 Reminders

Online Council registration at the early-bird price closes at midnight on January 14. If you have not registered by that date, plan to register on-site at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center when you come to Council. Be prepared to pay the full cost of $170 at that time. (Incidental costs, such as the cost of parking and breakfast, are not included in your Council registration fee.)

Please remember to bring the printed booklets you received at each of the three convocation meetings to Council. The three booklets contain most of the information you will need for the weekend's activities and business. If you've lost your spring or fall booklet, you can download a copy from the Who We Are --> Governance --> Convocations section of www.dioswva.org.

Check-In, Late Registration, and Balloting begin at noon on Friday, January 23, and ends at 5 PM. Clergy and spouses who are already registered to meet with Bishop Mark and Martha Bourlakas on Friday morning may pick up their name tags at 9:30 AM.

Council business begins at 2 PM on Friday, January 24.

The Finance Committee, Resolutions Committee, and
Constitution and Canons Committee will be available at an open hearing on Friday, January 23, at 3:30 PM.
