Soothing a crying infant - part 1
Babies are a great joy to their parents and those who care for them! Sometimes, though, their crying can be challenging. Learning the facts about infant crying and ways to soothe your baby can help when crying becomes difficult to cope with.

The magic of everyday moments

Zero to Three shares a video series highlighting how the actions parents take while their children are young can lead to their healthy, happy, and successful adulthood.

Video titles include, Brain Wonders, Literacy Skills, Power of Play and more!

InBrief: Resilience Series

The Center for the Developing Child at Harvard shares why reducing the effects of significant adversity on young children's healthy development is critical to the progress and prosperity of any society. Yet not all children experience lasting harm as a result of adverse early experiences. Some may demonstrate "resilience," or an adaptive response to serious hardship. A better understanding of why some children do well despite early adversity is important because it can help us design policies and programs that help more children reach their full potential. These three videos provide an overview of why resilience matters, how it develops, and how to strengthen it in children.

Promoting the Protective Factors everyday

We know that child development is largely influenced by early interactions with parents and caregivers; however, the community also plays a role in the story of child development. Access to quality healthcare, safe and affordable housing, quality early learning, after school programs and enriching educational, cultural and spiritual experiences all help promote healthy child development.

Thank you: Child Abuse Prevention Month
Your participation in Child Abuse Prevention Month did not go unnoticed or under appreciated! We had over 80 people and organizations submit photos for Wear Blue Day, a few fundraisers, numerous pinwheel gardens statewide and many Strengthening Families events at Family Resource Centers. Your little (or big) part in Child Abuse Prevention Month will undoubtedly help us get closer to solving the big problem. Every minute, every dollar & every child matters. If you missed what we did during the month of April, check out our website!
