Former program coordinator, Period of PURPLE Crying

I just spent the last two years working for the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome where the main focus was to promote the educational/prevention program, the Period of PURPLE Crying. I learned all kinds of things about normal infant crying, how it starts at two weeks, peaks in the second month and then decreases by the fifth to sixth month. The idea was to normalize this period of increased crying so that as a parent, you feel at peace knowing your baby is going through a normal developmental stage. My baby, Matthijs, cries ALL. THE. TIME...ALL. DAY, EVERY. DAY. As a parent, this is heart wrenching. He cries, moans, and screams and the worst part is that there is absolutely nothing that will soothe him.

Where to donate CLICK for Babies caps
Knitting or crocheting this summer for infant abuse prevention? You're not alone in your efforts! If  you're like most of our donors, you'd probably like to unload some of those hats.

Donate them at any of our "collection sites" or mail to us at NH Children's Trust, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 315, Concord, NH 03301

Are you ready for school?

Before your child starts school, most learning happens during play. Being ready for school is more than knowing letters and numbers. Children need to feel secure at school and about being with others.

Making gains for infant abuse prevention!
So far this summer we've collected a little over 1/4 of how many hats were donated to CLICK for Babies last year! We've held 7 knit-in events, with 5 more to go, and are confident we'll meet our goal again.

We hope you'll join us at one of the upcoming events, or donate your time helping us educate about the Period of PURPLE Crying.

Follow along on Facebook for photos and updates on the campaign in real time!
Now accepting intern applications

Are you looking for an internship for the Fall 2014 semester? Are you organized and into writing, creating and social media? Then, you may be a perfect intern for  Janine Mitchell, Communications Coordinator.

She is in need of a little help this semester with web-based, multi-media event planning, marketing, public relations and communications. What better place to intern than the lead agency in the state for child abuse prevention and the 2014 Citizens Bank Champion in Action?
