Frigid family fun this weekend
Community, pageant titleholders and athletes gather for Snow Much Fun Softball Tournament
CONCORD - Frigid fingers can't stop a few hard core athletes from competing in an annual charity softball tournament - in the middle of winter.
At 9 am on Saturday, the Snow Much Fun Softball Tournament kicks off at Lebanon High School and doesn't end until 4 PM. Then, players come back for double elimination on Sunday.

Each of the 13 teams took on the task of raising a minimum of $250 for child abuse prevention. The unorthodox tournament has raised funds for Prevent Child Abuse America branches in Vermont and New Hampshire since 2009. In 2013, the tournament organizer, Rick Currier, says they raised $5,100 for child abuse prevention.

Rumor has it, royalty will be lingering around on Saturday morning. According to the tournament's website, Miss Vermont Jeanelle Achee, Miss New Hampshire Samantha Russo and Miss Auburn (NH) Rylee Field will be throwing the first pitches, mingling with guests and signing autographs for attendees and players.
