Dear Friend,

Please forward this invitation to your staff, religious education leaders, clergy and care coordinators.

Faith groups, child welfare systems, early care and education systems, health care systems, family support systems, informal community entities, as well as others share a vested interest in promoting the healthy development of all children, and the strength and stability of their families.

These groups help create connections with families that break down isolation and helplessness which families under stress often experience.

Faith matters because of its power to promote personal transformation and its potential to strengthen family and community bonds. Because of the spiritual development they foster, communities of faith have been and will continue to be strong partners in efforts to promote family and community strengthening.

The Strengthening Families Summit will give you tools to use in your ministry with families.

What is the Strengthening Families Approach?

Strengthening Families is a framework developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy to prevent child abuse and neglect. This approach helps programs work with parents to build the following protective factors:

  • Parental resilience
  • Social connections
  • Concrete support in times of need
  • Knowledge of parenting and child development
  • Social and emotional competence of children

The Strengthening Families approach offers:

  • An intuitive framework for what families need and what programs can do to support them
  • A broad range of concrete low- and no-cost actions that programs of all types can implement
  • Free and accessible tools and resources to support implementation at the program, policy and systems levels

We have an exciting lineup of presenters who work across disciplines with families. Click here for details. View our sponsors here.

CEU's in Marriage and Family Therapy will be offered. Professional development hours with be offered from the NH Department of Education and the NH Department of Health and Human Services, DCYF Child Development Bureau.
