Light is a part of the fabric of the winter holiday season.
Christmas, Hanukkah and Bodhi Day are with filled with festive light - candlelight, starlight, tree lights.
And we celebrate the return of light at the winter solstice. At last, the hours of sunlight begin to surpass those of wintery darkness.
You Are a Cherished Being of Light
This winter, as your heart quiets with a candle's glow, as you delight in the sparkle and glitter of holiday décor, as the days lengthen, I hope you take a moment to acknowledge that you are a Being of Light.
A spark of Divine Light resides within you.
This is the perfect time to reflect on your opportunities to internalize the promise of winter's light: hope, renewal and fulfillment of potential.

How to Rekindle Your Light
- Be gentle with yourself, always
- Stop comparing yourself to others
- Define what you need to let go of or do less of
- Reread a book that once touched your heart
- Grow a windowsill garden
- Make art with children or seniors
- Contact a childhood friend
- Schedule something special, just for you, each week (and keep the date)
- Learn foolproof ways to quiet your inner critic
- Listen to the whisper of your Divine Light
How to Grow Your Glow
- Refine or expand what you live your life in service of
- Begin each morning by acknowledging something you're grateful for
- Spend 10 minutes a day on professional development
- Commit to mentoring, directly or indirectly
- Take that risk (you know you want to!)
- Read novels
- Give flowers
- Give time
- Give more time
- Keep listening to the whisper of your Divine Light
My hope for you this Season of Light is that you shine brightly in your magnificence and in your truth.
Be who you came here to be.
Do what you came here to do.
