Greetings!
I've worked in several very male-dominated arenas during my career to date. Two have nearly the same acronyms--the NBA and the HBA. Yep, basketball players and home builders. Suffice it to say, I've had some interesting jobs. But, back to the point, I'm thrilled to see that the #4 most influential person in the home building industry is a woman. And I'm excited to announce she will be at the 2013 Better Living Show. More on her story below. Yes, I know in the year 2012 I shouldn't be so excited about a woman climbing to the highest ranks in "a man's world." But, shoot, I was the first woman hired in the Operations Dept for the Seattle Sonics in the late 90's and that wasn't THAT long ago, either. If you wanna talk sports, I'm always game. Come find me at the show! |

Marianne Cusato to present in 2013
Mother nature served up Hurricane Katrina. Marianne Cusato's answer? A 300 square foot cottage that has redefined the face of affordable, post-disaster housing. (It's storm-worthy, but did she succeed in making it appealing?)
A leading voice in home design, Cusato focuses on the role of the built environment and how it affects us physically, fiscally and environmentally.
Marianne will present from her latest book, The Just Right Home. | |

Consumer Shows -- the original social media!
"90% of word-of-mouth conversations about brands take place offline, primarily face-to-face... These conversations bring with them greater credibility, a greater desire to share with others, and a great likelihood to purchase the products being discussed than conversations that take place online."*
* Why Successful Branding Still Happens Offline. Wall Street Journal. May 14, 2012. |
