From Donna's corner of the beach....
The Clearwater Beach Taste Fest was fantastic! The totals aren't in yet, but it certainly felt like we just set a record or two.
The Visitor Center staff handled the raffle table. First off, Carol Mears-you rock! Broken foot and all! The baskets were stunning! Taste Fest participants practically drooled all around the booth. And thanks to our generous members for all the goodies in those baskets!
The band, Espree deKor, played great oldies all evening. Our emcee, Pat Largo, did a super job announcing all the winners, participating restaurants, judges and all. Everyone on stage was a pleasure to work with.
And special thanks to Nancy Gardinier, Ed Patch and Kathy Murray. They worked so hard selling tickets and assisting patrons. Thanks also to the gorgeous Hooters' girls who walked all over the venue selling raffle tickets.
Congratulations to all the winners! And the live auction was great fun and a big boost to the evening. Let's do that again!
Thanks to all the restaurants who participated. Everyone raved about the food-I just wish I had a chance to sample more. But I will be going to some of our restaurants for their special menus and offers throughout Restaurant Week. That's a given!
Special kudos for our entire office staff. I can't express how hard everyone worked to make this event a success. So many moving parts! The Cookbook was a great addition to the event-and they'll be available in our office and elsewhere if you haven't gotten one. Not only are the recipes great, but the photography (thanks, Wayne) and coupons are wonderful.
For our Chamber staff, my wish for each member is a special self-indulgence some time soon. We are a small, but mighty staff!
And a final thanks to all who attended! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and left with a full tummy and a smile on your face!
