Greetings! They say Spring Break is here but it has felt like Spring Break since the first of the year. We have been so busy and that is not a complaint! Our beach is popular and continues to grow in popularity and become well known. Michele Silva, an anchor with WVLT-TV a CBS Affiliate in Knoxville Tennessee, was here visiting friends and decided to grab some footage to take back for the news station. I interviewed with her at the Pier. Everybody loves us!! |

One of the real issues at hand is how do we handle all this traffic and make sure that the people coming to visit our gorgeous beach find an easy place to park and enjoy their time spent here. As a Visitor Center, we hear many comments about the parking issues on the beach. I know you hear them in your establishments, too. We must do something about this and find a solution. | Another Lot Full..
|
Our Beach Chamber has formed a Parking Committee to address this issue and is working on developing a plan to present to the City. If you are interested in becoming a part of this Committee, please call us and let us know. The parking needs of our beach go beyond having adequate parking for our visitors. The employees who work on our beach need a place to park as well. Not all businesses have sufficient parking for their staff. It is time for us to work as a team to resolve our parking needs. We must continue to be the wonderful destination that we are and ensure everyone who works or plays on our beach finds it easy to arrive.
Thank you,
Darlene Kole

Oyster.com, a website that has been bought out by Trip Advisor, was created to give travelers the raw view of Hotels/Attractions etc. This is a great thing to happen with Trip Advisor because now there will not be any photo shopped or false images of places to give travelers a false sense of what a property really looks like! Please feel free to contact them. They will be here April 21st for a photo shoot for some of our great properties. Are you one of them?

From Donna's Corner
of the Beach...
| Connie Maynard
|
The newest volunteer at the Visitor Center is Connie Maynard, tho' she's not a newbie to Clearwater Beach. Originally from Nebraska, she grew up in Northeast Ohio in Amish country. It's a major tourist area there.
Connie attended Ohio State and worked in Human Resources, primarily in the banking and investment industries. She's accredited by the American Society for Personnel Administration as a Personnel Specialist.
She and her husband moved to Florida in 1987, and they've lived in this area for 20 years. She and her whole family are avid boaters-her three children followed her down from Michigan-so they all love the beaches and feel that everything they could ever need is right here!
In addition, Connie is a longtime member and has held offices in the Welcome Newcomer Club and the Clearwater Yacht Club. She's an avid reader and book club member too.
You can meet Connie at the VC most any Wednesday! She enjoys working with people and telling them about our glorious area! And we're so happy that she's part of our team!
Welcome, Connie!
With sand between my toes,
donna
