[Pattern Book]. Wills, Royal Barry. Houses for Homemakers. New York: Franklin Watts, Inc., 1945. First edition. Quarto,pp 94. filled with architectural renderings and floor plans on each page. Color Pictorial Wraps. Near Fine. A very uncommon title by America's most popular architect.   Wills, a New England-based post-war architect, was a champion of traditional design in residential architecture, in the face of  our obsession with the 1950s ranch house.  This is a very early post-War piece (1945), which shows Wills fine-tuning his small house options and veering away from the increasingly popular ranch house.
