TIC HAS A NEW FACEBOOK PAGE!
We're really excited to announce that we recently launched our new TIC Facebook page! Not only does the page include pictures of your congregant friends involved in activities they love, but also includes posts and articles of cultural, political, and social interest. Please go to www.facebook.com/TempleIsraelCenter and "like" our page! We'd love to see your comments on the timeline posts. "Like" them and share them with your FB friends! Please know that it is not possible to "tag" a person in a photo on our FB page.
If you're new to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, you may have heard of "tagging" but are not really sure what it means. Simply put, tagging identifies someone else in a post, photo or status update that you share. A tag may also notify that person that you have mentioned them or referred to them in a post or a photo, and provide a link back to their profile. To protect the privacy of our congregants, we have structured the settings of our Facebook page so that it is not possible to "tag" a person in a photo on the page.

MONTHLY SHABBAT MEDITATION GROUP
Saturday, June 20 from 8:15-8:45 am
Join Cantor Mordecai and Jerry Snider in the Lower Level Conference Room and sit together for half an hour before regular services begin in the sanctuary at 9:00 am.
The focus of our practice will be on quieting the mind in order to prepare ourselves for a deeper tefillah experience. Our Rabbis laid the groundwork for connecting meditation to tefillah. In Mishna Brahot 5:1, it states that the "ancient pious ones would meditate for an hour before prayer to build concentration on the heavenly realms."
All are welcome but it is important to know that THIS IS NOT A SERVICE. We will give a brief introduction to meditation technique in order to help orient people, but the focus is on silent awareness of the breath. This gathering is aimed at people who either have, or wish to develop, a regular meditation practice. We ask that everyone arrive on time. Chairs will be set up but people are also welcome to bring a mat, cushion or pillow if they are more comfortable on the floor.
