We are thrilled with Cleo's color palette and can't get enough of their saturated brights! Since there are 40 gorgeous colors in all we can't carry every one, but we have selected the hottest summer colors. Cleo is a mercerized cotton which means it will not pill, lose it's shape, or fade after machine washing! At 5.5 sts. per inch on a #6 needle, it's an ideal sport weight for Summer's projects. At only $6.50 a hank, it's a steal!

LEARN TO KNIT THIS SWEATER!

This is the second in our Summer/Fall 2013 series of 12 skill-building classes using Michelle Hunter's book. This month, we'll be knitting Block #2 which introduces knitters to chart reading. The blocks are knit in the lofty and scrumptious Simpliworsted which comes in 50 colors! We're happy to special order any color you wish. In our LYS group on Ravelry, we were asked what our most popular shop sample is. Hands down, it is the Vacation Scarf (which would be beautiful knit in Cleo). This simple pattern is knit on straight needles, back and forth, with short rows. (Don't be afraid of short rows; they're very easy in this pattern)! This is an original shop pattern available for purchase at the Grove. It's a great Summer carry-along project for the beach or travel.

Our second most popular sample is Claire, an airy wrap consisting of one 5-stitch repeat. So honestly, if you knit and purl with ease, you can do this pattern! You'll have it down pat before the evening's over! Use a fine mohair as pictured (we recommend Kid Seta) or one of our beautiful lace weight yarns, like Lacy Lamb!
