Juried by Chicago artist Sarah Krepp, "Oil and Water" includes two and three-dimensional works in a variety of media. She notes that in selecting entries for inclusion, "I (chose) artworks that exhibit, in some manner, the courage to "let go of certainties" (Eric Fromm). The questions I ask are: Does it need to be made? Is there an element of originality? Is there a spark of necessity?"

Artists exhibiting in "Oil and Water" include Gloria Adams, Valerie Allen, Beth Billups, Rachel Borenstein, Lexygius Calip, Marian Carow, Wendy Chambers, Sarah Ciampa, Annette Cossentine, Andre Daugavietis, Matt Davis, Susan Emmerson, Danielle Eubank, Deborah Eyde, Yolanda Fernandez-Shebeko, Alicia Forestall-Boehm, Joann Goetzinger, Jessica Gondek, Sheila Grabarsky, Leslie Hirshfield, Leslie Hopf, Gloria Huet, HoJung Jun, Kim Laurel, Kathleen Laybourn, Roberta Malkin, Angela McElwain, Jane Michalski, Amy Mintonye, Katherine Nemanich, Nancy Reid, Sarah Jane Rennick, Yun Shin, Michele Thrane, Kathy Weaver, Rosalind Faiman Weinberg, Carla Winterbottom, and Angie Zielinski.

Five female photographers, Carol Byron, Becky Jane Davis, Patsy R. Davis, Dee Hudson, Lorae Mundt, explore the fleeting moments of time and space in this exhibition. By capturing the sun on trees and plants, nature's growth, a winter's day and swirls of smoke, together they explore various visions of life in the here-and-now. This collaborative effort emerged from a class with S. Gayle Stevens at the College of DuPage in Spring, 2014.
