Stacee Kalmanovsky
A Reciprocal Wild : the Secret Intelligence of Objects
Opening Reception: Friday, March 7, 6-9 p.m.

Simultaneously with the "17th International Open" group exhibition, WMG is hosting a solo show with new works by Chicago artist Stacee Kalmanovsky, titled
"A Reciprocal Wild : The Secret Intelligence of Objects". Kalmanovsky was awarded the first prize, a solo show in WMG's 16th International Open.
Kalmanovsky writes of her work, "Often, I let the objects and materials do the 'talking,' and believe in their secret intelligence. I think of myself as provoking, indulging, and enabling the inanimate to perform. Collages are the real news, indulgent of my fantasy and rooted in myth. Image and figures constructed from bits of nature and home, stirred by a deeper extra-sensory knowing."

Woman Made Gallery (WMG) is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization founded in 1992. Its goal is to support, cultivate, and promote the diverse contributions of women in the arts through exhibitions and other programs that serve, educate, and enrich our community.
A small staff, interns and volunteers, and a dedicated group of board members and advisers are the heart and soul of the Gallery. WMG relies on membership contributions and individual donations to create the programs that support its mission.
Woman Made Gallery is supported in part by grants from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency; a CityArts Program II grant from the City of Chicago, Department of Cultural Affairs; the Arts Work Fund for Organizational Development, a donor-advised fund of the Chicago Community Trust; the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation; The Efroymson Family Fund, a CICF Fund; a major anonymous donor; and the generosity of its members and contributors.
WE CANNOT DO OUR IMPORTANT WORK WITHOUT YOUR HELP!
