Half the fun of participating in March Madness is the pre-game prep. Then, there is the trash talk during the tournament, the hits and the misses and, ultimately, the gloating over who won. Filling out your own bracket and not sharing in the activity takes away a lot of the fun. As a job seeker, are you participating with other job seekers? Or, are you isolating yourself? Don't! It helps to have people to commiserate with, share strategies, and celebrate successes. Continue reading...

Elephant image in glass enclosure
Photo: US Glass News Network
"The Oregon Zoo recently underwent a big expansion for a big animal. A four-year, $57-million project quadrupled the size of its elephant habitat, and it got a key assist from glass. Within the exhibit, which opened to the public last month, are two glass-enclosed images of the actual life-sized elephants that live at the zoo. The larger display spans 16 feet wide and more than 12 feet high. The images provide a vivid look at the elephants, and an even more impressive demonstration of the capabilities of glass. Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope supplied the PPG Starphire glass."

crane lifting concrete for bridge project

"Oldcastle Precast assembled all of the precast concrete components for each bridge at the plant. This allowed each component to be checked for precise fit before shipment. As a result, this bridge construction project came in under budget, opened ahead of schedule and did not substantially interrupt traffic patterns.
The MDOT bridge project is one of the top 10 project finalists competing for America's Transportation Awards National Grand Prize and the People's Choice Award.
The $2.75-million project reconstructed three deteriorating timber bridges built in the 1930s. The new bridges are located in Deep Creek Canyon between Townsend and White Sulphur Springs, Montana. The Deep Creek Canyon Weekend Bridges Replacement Project also was awarded the 2015 Project of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Public Works Association and the 2015 Engineering Excellence Award in the Structural Systems category by the American Council of Engineering Cos. of Montana.
