The Florida Panhandle of Preferred Materials Ready Mix is proud to announce its involvement in a new project with Purple Heart Homes. Purple Heart Homes is a non-profit organization that helps find housing for disabled veterans. Most recently, Preferred Materials helped with materials on a home in Cantonment, Florida for a Sergeant who was severely injured while serving on a tour of Iraq.
Preferred supplied the ready mix concrete for the project, as well as the flowable fill material to fill in the swimming pool. Several volunteers attended to help with the final cleanup and landscaping. Preferred Materials was present when Purple Heart Homes handed the keys over to the veteran's new home.

On November 6th, this Oldcastle Precast manufacturer of precast concrete pipe celebrated working eight years (248,000 hours) without experiencing a single Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injury! The team is fortunate to have employees, (including 2 with over 30 years tenure and 7 with over 10 years) that have witnessed the evolution of the organizations' commitment to safety. These veteran employees play an active role in driving safe behaviors and ensuring the well being of all their colleagues.
