WIBA monthly luncheon, July 8

This month's luncheon will feature Ted and Betty Vlamis, from Pioneer Balloon Company. As a business team brimming with entrepreneurial spirit, Ted and Betty's history began when they formed a new products start-up company on April 1, 1974 not knowing what product they would develop or where it might lead them.  Forty years later they are still partners working together every day. Come and listen to their interesting story.

The luncheon will be held at the Wichita Boathouse, 515 S. Wichita St., from 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. The cost is $20. Reservations are required by Thursday, July 3 . Reservations and payment can be made online at www.wiba.org, by calling the WIBA office at 316-201-3264 or by emailing membership@wiba.org.

President's Report on

Washington Fly-In

On May 9, 2014, I participated, along with several other WIBA members, in the Washington Fly-In arranged by the Wichita Metro Chamber.  Barby Jobe and Jaime Dupy deserve credit for excellent arrangements for the trip.

When people complain about deadlock in Washington it is important to understand that the two parties have districted the states in a way that leaves only 40 seats out of 435 as competitive in the general election.  There will be more real contests in congressional primaries
