"Dig" Your Own at the Farm

Please join us at the Farm this Sunday September 8th from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm to dig for potatoes! East Lynn's "Dig Your Own" will be lots of fun for the whole family as everyone gets to relive his childhood of digging in the dirt. We don't have enough hand shovels to please come with a shovel. From 1-3 pm, we will also be offering hay rides and tours of the farm. Bring kitchen scraps (bread, pastries, pasta, fruits, veggies, grains etc...) to feed to our chickens, turkeys and ducks. The kids love to do this! We strongly recommend that you apply lots of sunscreen, bring water, a hat and bug spray. Remember that there are lots of bees and other flying critters buzzing about so you may want to bring a long-sleeved shirt and long pants too (I never garden without them). You're welcome to bring your own lunch and picnic at the Farm or purchase some of our grilled burgers and hot dogs.

East Lynn Farm is located at 19955 Airmont Road, Round Hill VA, 20141. The farm is on both sides of the road with several different entrances. Please come to the side with the sign that says "Farm Service Road Entrance".

Please register for this event by emailing us at locallygrownva@gmail.com or on our on Facebook event page Like us on Facebook by September 6th. We will not be able to accommodate RSVP's after that date.

For those coming to "Dig Your Own", you will pick up your share for this week at the farm so we will not deliver or have a share for you to pick-up on Saturday.

  News From The Director

It's hard to believe that summer will soon be giving way to Fall.  We hope you've been enjoying the program as much as we have.  It's been great getting to know so many of you. Many thanks for returning to us the reusable bags and other packaging materials and egg cartons, as well as letting us know when you are unable to pick up your shares. This really helps reduce spoilage and waste.  Please continue to do so particularly in view of the upcoming Labor Day Holiday.

Have a great week, eat healthy and continue to support local food!
